I feel a bit better now, but mostly because a) I was performing religious rituals with sake cups full of day-old microwave-heated coffee in the middle of making dinner and b) I realised I have enough butter in the house to make some flapjacks to give to my workplace tomorrow morning. a) is not related to b).
(I still have the same problem with that as ever, fyi; what the heck am I meant to do with the grinds?)
Weird how attempting to invoke something tends to simply make it clear how hard it's already there.

I made the earrings I sent you. :) It was a little tinkering obsession I developed a while ago, and I simply can't bear to make matching sets.
I'll be effectively leaving for the UK on Feb 21st, the day after my birthday - we're driving to Tampa then flying out from down there. It's a leeeetle cheaper plus we need to drop the dogs off with family. Currently it seems most likely that we'll be flying from Orlando and thus having the epic layover not in Boston but in NYC. Sorry :(
'Ritual' may be too strong a word; just making coffee for things that aren't there, and taking it outside, and pouring it on my earth under one of my trees, because I have worse things to worry about than running out of coffee and it's basic friendliness whether the thing you're trying to reach exists or not! I have bugger all to offer but I can at least offer that - and hey, offering it to a 'god' is kind of like practice/self-training for being open with what you have irl.
What was already there? Set, and all the other great principles that underlie the world we've made here.
