STUFF TO DO:
Before I leave:
-Get more presents for people. I have a hoarded-up pile of things I want to give to various people but some of those I wish to see are underrepresented (notably Hal and Jess'ca. Jess'ca is deliberately impossible to shop for and I simply dunno what Hal would want right now. I don't know to what extent gifts will be expected or for which people specifically, either. Should I get something for Z's guy who I've never met before? And did I mention that thing where I have mostly forgotten how to shop & how objects make people happy? Information, experience and intimacy make me happy. therefore:)
-finish making certain Things. Roughly three such things. argh don't expect to see too much of me on the internets in the next couple of weeks.
-TALK TO PEOPLE AND ARRANGE THINGS. Fly told me about the free theatre tickets for under-26s thing and then went and booked something at the WYP for May 20th. This kinda puts Leeds in the middle of my trip. We're thinking of going over to Bradford to look at the National Media Museum, plus I want to go up to York to visit Jojo. Apart from that I really just want to take walking days in town. Srsly. I shall have to beg someone to call Hal, Kathie and Jess'ca for me as I lack reliable ways of getting in touch with them. Then there's the people like Pete and Charles where I don't even know where they're living now :/
-figure out EXACTLY when I want to be where, asap, and then ask someone to book megabus/megatrain tickets for future reimbursement.
-draw a load of cash from the bank. Currency exchange is much easier in the UK than the USA so I'll just sell it at the post office when I get there. The timing on all this is pretty alright as the paycheck I get on Friday will be much, much bigger than usual because I worked over 60 hours in the week of the 15th, plus I get my bonus in early May, though I don't have a clue how much it is - probably about enough to offset the lost income from fucking off for 9 days.
Stuff to do while I'm there:
-WALK, especially in London. Seriously. This is a walking holiday. Though I may take my rollerskates. Fuck, will I need both my pairs of skates? SOMEONE TELL ME. Also baking days and making dinner with/for stupidly large numbers of people, showing Z how to make thai red curry from scratch, etc.
-maybe take Kathie to the ballet like we used to say we would. Also maybe a night trip to the Ridgeway, which I may or may not drag the Triumvirate on, aaah.
-fuck, I have that problem where I am all one-on-one with friends rather than groupish and that makes figuring things out in a limited timeframe difficult and explaining this will also be difficult because it will involve a good bit of 'no, I want a one-on-one afternoon with ___'. Obvious exceptions such as triumvirates and other people who actually really know each other. But a lot of my friendships are primarily individual nodes (though I ttly need to introduce Jess'ca & Fly to each other, ttly. It has taken all my willpower to not try to set up a blind coffee date before now).
-possibly go to E&C to find shoes. I'd actually planned a shoe-hunting trip locally sometime later this week; in general you can get good shoes for less money in the USA but the Elephant and Castle outlet place is special. I am still really really feeling the loss of the wonderful pair of shoes that I got at E&C in 2007 and which Grendel ate a few days after I met him in 2008 :(
-oh i don't even know i am too squeeful right now

Okay SO; the only real fixed date is the Thursday. How/when are we going to get back to London? Saturday may be a terrible time to travel, which would mean either Sunday (ie, I'd be scrambling to get ready to go back the very next day) or Friday (ie, we might not be able to catch either ceilidh). Alternatively we could leave London early on Wednesday and head back early on Friday? Then we could go stalk Jojo on Wednesday evening, if she's willing. (Bus tickets between Leeds and York aren't too dear).
god there is so not enough time.
