-yes I am still cycling through journal layouts in attempt to find something that looks okay, doesn't put post titles in allcaps, and will fit onto my tiny screen in a readable fashion. this is why I should never try to change anything ever.
-feelings erratically present in response to minor stimuli, mind dead of tired. Am marooned in the wrong bit of time & weather, should be somewhere-anywhere else. Stonehenge with Kathie, no 30 with Z & H and the Ms, or moved north already, I have no flying idea but here I am going outside in shirtsleeves at midnight on the shortest day of the year and realising I have no idea where I am, or when, or why.
-finally hit a break in ♠wreck; it will be a relief to get back to a nice sane fandom like Metal Gear Ac!d OH WAIT. no really I am going to go line-edit in bed for a few days. brain needs a rest. and then it needs to make Minette be awesome.
-heard that Pregnant Lady miscarried earlier this week; the universe, sometimes it does things.

i absolutely, positively cannot wait until dw has some good layouts. PLEASE. I NEED MY VARIABLE FLOW SO I CAN TILE PICTURES OF FICTIONAL BUNNIES BEHIND THE ENTRY TEXT.

DW has hundreds of layouts; I just felt like a change and I'm now worried I've already used the 5 or so I really adore already. :/ I am just fussy about a few things; I have a short screen on my laptop so layouts must have a fairly wide entry area and not too much wasted space up top, I don't want anything that autocapitalises post titles or puts them on the right, and I much prefer monochromes & cool colours over warm or bright colours, and I prefer solid colour to repeating designs eg. stripy or argyle themed layouts.

A lot of this stuff can be fixed with customisation to some extent (eg. shortening the width of sidebars so the entry text will be wider, plus almost all colour issues can be easily fixed in the colour customisation page), and I've heard that DW layout design is way way easy plus you get credit for it, but I am not very good with design stuff so prefer to use out-of-the-box layouts. What's your current layout called? I kinda like it but I would go with different colours.

http://www.dreamwidth.org/customize/ <---there's about 30 base layouts which each come in tons of different skins, if you want to poke around at them. I guess people will start making things that have features in common with their favourite LJ layouts - new base layouts get released fairly often. I hope you can find something that makes you pink and happy.
