hi, i'm thene, and I have forgotten how to fall asleep. This happens sometimes. :( Apart from that I have been having a pretty good week. M said something the other week about it being as vital to cultivate input as output; I haven't been doing anything more ambitious than lolariously failed cake & allowing the lady from Norway to teach me to knit, but all is well. ish. can't sleep.

(re. pyg, I got stuck at that point where I had a few snippets, one beautiful elegant bestever sentence, and no fic. There is no fic. I know I can alchemise one up somehow but that would involve paying attention).

quick thought: FFXIII is sat plum next to BGII and the Brosca origin in Dragon Age in the matter of odd RGP sisters. I think the logic goes like this; RPG protagonists must generally be masculine, irrespective of gender, because they go out and beat shit up (and ngl I love equal-opportunity videogame masculinity) --> female RPG characters must generally be feminine, ie. sexually available to men and with a Female Grabbing Place located just above the elbow --> therefore female RPG protagonists must have some kind of butch-femme contrast going on with their sisters, where the protag is the big strong one who is sometimes called upon to do rescuing. It is all very wtf until you remember that almost everyone is obsessed with gender except you.
