Spent most of the day reading Homestuck, with the net result that I am earworming The Baby Is You. :( I still love this comic - I loved the act 3 intermission because I am a sucker for time paradoxes. Am having unfortunate thoughts about how one would go about cosplaying Snowman. *facepalm*
Tarot for the first time in ages; Wheel, Chariot, PS, why the flying fuck do I feel so goddamn content in this? I can even picture them as a nested set. I just curled up on my side and stared at them and thought about how right and okay that all was. *siiiigh*
incidentally, meant to link this ages ago; sometimes Fly posts our funny chatlogs so i don't have to.

And yep, I am loving Homestuck - so much mediumfuckery. I am pretty sure it's the first interesting thing to happen to cyberpunk as a genre in quite a while, and it is blatantly the Somethingy of Webcomics in that it's on the internet, it's about the internet and it could only be told on the internet. I like that it's all in second-person; the few times I've written second-person MGS fic it's felt very right, because in a gameworld a protagonist is always addressed as 'you', not 's/he' or 'I'. Second-person is canon-tone, in a game fandom. Or in a game parody. XD Oh yes and I like that it's The Sims that is the game fandom Homestuck chooses to approach with apocalyptic seriousness rather than some grimface space-marine game.
Also, I love Jade and it seems like no one ever talks about her? I know she's a goddamn sue and I love her anyway <33333

Homestuck is like this pinnacle of mindfuckery that makes you love it whether you want it or not. You and me, we met at MGS fandom. We know and love how it is when the author is an utter troll.
Besides, I'm WEAK for stories with time travel and creation myths.
it's about the internet and it could only be told on the internet. <-- YES. My deepest wish is to be a professional writer and I'm all about looking for new ways to tell stories. Just like MGS2 couldn't be but a videogame, Homestuck needs the internet, and knowledge about the internet to work as a narrative. The second person thingy can be as effective as a suckerpunch sometimes, when used correctly and I think Hussie has it down as well as, say, Chuck Palahniuk.
Everyone loves Jade! :D It's like an universal constant. You cannot not-like her. The thing is, we were kind of left at a cliffhanger with what happened to her and it's been a while since she last appeared ;; Jade rocks at being a sue and does it so awesomely she's actually loveable. <333
