i want a pogohammer!

Thus far today I have toyed with my FFEX fic a little bit (but way less than it really needs), made DELICIOUS BIKKITS by abusing a Melting Moments recipe with ORANGE ESSENCE and GIANT CHOCOLATE CHIPS, and read more of Homestuck; oh god SO IMPRESSED by this page, because the joke is in the border of the panel rather than in the panel itself. This is totally worth wheeling out that Moonraker quote once again. (I try to write keeping in mind what David Wong said about writing - that ideally the reader should get payoff from every sentence, whether it's new information or WAFF or a penis joke or whatever - but I really like stuff that makes you work a little bit for the payoff.)

And now I must leave the house, because my fridge is out of everything, and Grendel is showing his objections to this by sitting on us. Grendel is heavy. dawwww.

GIMME YOUR BIKKIT RECIPE PLZ.

LOL I am planning on stealing two lemons from work today so I can make lemon bars. I am a citrus fiend. ;)

THAT IS THE BEST WAY TO MEASURE CHOCOLATE CHIPS TBH. TRUST ME, I'M A PROFESSIONAL.

This recipe intrigues me--no eggs? Cornstarch? Powdered sugar? hhhm. There is supposed to be a purpose behind the whole adding things in a certain order thing, but when it comes to small batches of stuff it doesn't really matter. Dealing with it professionally on a large scale, though, yeah, you figure out there's a reason for it, ahaha. Not that I've ever fucked up a batch of muffins, ever.

Oh lol I know what you mean. I am not a fan of volumetrics myself, but sometimes it's just easier. And I hardly ever use my stand mixer because that thing is a pain to clean. I got it more because you can get attachments for it (I want the pasta maker and meat grinder attachment SO FUCKING BAD). When it comes to the general mixing of things, though, pfff, give me an honest wooden spoon or a whisk any day. Although I do concede defeat when it comes to meringue and buttercream. :p

I personally love and recommend my Oster immersion blender; it came with two bowl/blade attachments so you can use it as a blender or a food processor. Not to mention when I make homemade tomato sauce, or strawberry jam or something, it's mighty convenient and a hell of a lot less mess to clean up than a regular blender or food processor, that you have to ladle the sauce into. I got it as a gift but I think it was around sixty dollars.

lol I remember the first conversation I had with an Aussie about biscuits vs. scones vs. cookies. And then I tried to explain what brownies were. And then I told her that Americans really do eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

We use jelly as a catch-all term for all kinds of fruit spreads. Have you seen the brand of peanut butter and jelly swirled together in the grocery store? OH GOD THAT AND SOME PRETZEL RODS TO DIP IN IT IS MY PRECIOUSF. THE STRAWBERRY FLAVOR ESPECIALLY.

Well, what about peanut butter and banana? Or peanut butter, banana and honey? Or those peanut butter and cheese cracker thingies you get in vending machines? I SWEAR IT REALLY IS GOOD.

I've heard of a peanut butter sandwich concoction (I think it's more of a Midwest thing, cause I never heard of anyone doing this until a couple of months ago) of peanut butter, Miracle Whip, and Bacos. I wasn't able to credit it the first time someone described to me, but several people confirmed that it is an actual Thing. Now that sounds nasty.

I put used to put sour cream n onion chips, or Nacho Doritos on my ham sandwiches. Or Ritz crackers and cream cheese. With sweet pickles and onions. Nom. But I don't eat ham anymore, crap. :(

I have to be in the mood for bananas myself. IDK, I used to eat them all the time when I was a kid. Maybe I just got tired of them. But peanut butter and jelly is one of those things that, idk, is like, engraved on our collective psyche.

I have a bizarely open mind about food (considering my background) and I like almost everything I've tried, except the combination of prosciutto/melon/balsamic vinegar. Which is odd because adding ham to anything should automatically make it better (I am such a fail ovopescetarian with my abiding love of cured meat lol). But ham and melon absolutely do not go together. Oooh, but cilantro, mint and basil is good with melon, all chopped up fine with a little pineapple, maybe cucumber if you felt like it, and lime juice or rice wine vinegar--absolutely killer on blackened fish and shrimp.

Best frosting for a chocolate cupcake is

1/3 cup peanut butter,
2/3 cup cream cheese,
1/3 cup butter, and
1/3 cup powdered sugar, beaten together.

Also you can make brownie batter and peanut butter cookie dough, and drop spoonfuls of the cookie dough on top of the brownies after they're about halfway through baking.
