Etymological discovery of the day: metronome and metropolis do not have the same root. The former is measure, the latter is (so very naturally) mother. Disappointment.
And I'm on the bearable edge of a bout of claustrophobia so should probably turn off all the lights and go lie down with my eyes wide open or whatever. I do not know what the fuck sets off my claustrophobic episodes - it's much more like a very particular kind of visual headache than a phobia - but ohfuck are they annoying and this is my first one in ages. :/
