CANADIANS ARE NICE
I met two people wearing poppies yesterday and went 'WHAT BUT I'VE NEVER SEEN A REMEMBRANCE POPPY IN THE USA BEFORE' and they said 'LOL WE'RE FROM CANADA' and one of them gave me her poppy on the grounds that she had spares at home. I no longer feel naked in public and wishing I'd begged someone to post me one. This is wonderful ;___; Also, as the Canadians pointed out, their poppies aren't made of stiff paper so are better than ours.
Today I am chilling at home and working on d.; currently trying to make the first scene marginally less crap, but I fear said scene is destined to be eternally crap. I'm having to splice in a plot idea I had a while after writing it; unfortunately this fic has no other plot ideas, though it did cross my mind a few days ago that this problem could be partially solved if, halfway through (how does one measure halves in a ridic kinds of nonlinear fic) Canary were to get attacked by ninjas, but that would involve a lot of effort to write and still wouldn't constitute plot, just an interesting fourth agenda. (But I've not ruled it out. Incidentally, after seven years of failing at her I feel like this fic has finally made me get the hang of Canary as a character, even though she's barely in it.)
