Things I have learned so far today, aside from some really interesting relevant tree metaphor stuff I stumbled over via LUSH (no, really); how did I not know before about the proposed Lyon-Torino rail tunnel?
There's something so alien about living in the USA, so temporary and isolationist and terrifyingly reluctant to invest in itself, and then reading about these vast projects to link the ancient warring states together, to be closer to what has always been just past one's horizons; to cross horizons. Europe has no nowheres to build bridges to.
