experiment:
-I've downloaded the LJ client I used to love but haven't used in a few years, and am experimenting to see if it's Dw-compatible. *crosses fingers* The new ones I see around tend to be browser-based, which is the exact opposite of what I need atm; I want to be able to post mindless spam without using a browser.
[ETA: it worked!]
-partly because computer is showing more signs of dying. I shouldn't be THAT bothered at it taking a few tries to pass the RAM check, given that my last computer had that problem right out of the box and soldiered on for over three years with it, but there are a lot of problems piling up and I wonder how long this can possibly go on. I am obsessively backing up my WIPs, and that's all that really matters.
-work; as have previously mentioned, am doing something different from usual lately (temporarily). For the last two days I have been having to do my usual job instead, because it was piling up on account of me not doing it, and I am reminded of how much I dislike it, or rather, the whiny stressballness of the people I usually work with. Writing is annoying because writing rather than jobhunting is my #1 thing and yet, especially lately, it's the energy from d. that is getting me through the day. I have even noticed me having tangibly more getting-through-day energy than all the people around me. If I finish it before we finish this project I may, like, die.
-I am provisionally done with the intro that ate the fic. (it's not an intro, more like an extensive prose background; when I first thought about jotting it down the big problem was 'where in the fic could it possibly go?' It's not part of the sodding fic. *sigh*) Hopefully the weather will improve now it's done, and hopefully I can get the rest of it sorted now.

hiimdaisy):

You know you're an MGS fangirl when you realise you gave your characters ridic superpowers that have near-zero practical application and it took you this long to twig that this may be a problem. *facepalm*

This is why I so badly want my writing mojo back. When it's working, I can get into a wonderful hypo-mania which is fantastic. Good luck with d.; I hope it can carry you through the work bleah.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for your computer. Even with backups, it's sad when the poor things start to struggle.
