If I tried to describe all the character traits that can make me despise people we would be here for quite some time, but here's a particularly relevant one; taking obsessive glee in other people's misfortune.
So, I hate people. I managed to spend most of my workday alone; I sang a lot, because I felt like it, and found I couldn't remember any happy songs. I then dragged the only decent human being I could find out to lunch with me; I don't know her that well, but we both needed to get away from the horribleness for half an hour. Somehow that made the rest of the day a lot better.
I need to go to bed. Slightly dreading tomorrow because I fear that my two most obnoxious coworkers are going to be obnoxious together all morning. The one who was pissing me off all today is trying to keep herself at the centre of attention via her gabbling and gossiping, and she has promised to bring doughnuts to work for us; this pisses me off & disgusts me more than it should.
I need to think about more interesting things, like glaciation in a postapocalyptic North America, or Dragon Age shipping.
