Why are other human beings so fucking stupid?
tldr job a is full of workplace draaamaaaa, fortunately I am way out of the blast radius but am really disappointed in some people I thought I liked, which in turn means I have even fewer people to try to talk to and thus hate the world a little bit more than usual.
There is something in all this about taking things for granted and contempt and I think I could throw in a loaded LHM reference but I am not. even. going to keep thinking about it. I am not invested in the ways other people choose to fuck everythingthehell up.
On the plus side, I discovered I am doing better at saving up money than I thought and I got myself a new notebook (which has a big blue morpho on it, bite my fannish ass) and another Alastair Reynolds, though I may hold off on reading it for now. (I am kinda surprised that Revelation Space has a sequel, and not sure what to expect of it. I guess I hoped it was an entity unto itself - not that there aren't more things I wanted to know, esp. re Brannigan.)
Because bits of it dribbled into my head while I was reading Revelation Space, I've been listening to the TDK ost. It's really good at being big and moody and frustrating - especially the last 16-minute track - which makes it a really odd thing to get rolling around in your head. It is, mostly, music that is refusing to go anywhere.
