thene: The Joy is facepalming at you. (facepalm)
[I tried to post this during the earlier downtime, then I had to run out. Dessa was completely adorable, seriously sweet and hilarious stage presence, and we may even be prepared to forgive the terrible first opening act for existing]

January is still January and therefore I have a job, I start Monday afternoon. Agencies suck and are full of bullshit, so I did indeed fall back on plan B and go bother the company that's paid me for this shit before, because they always need me and always will; HOWEVER this has been upgraded to Plan B+, mostly because apparently the local folks actually know what they're doing and have made many delightful innovations, which include deleting most of the shittiest parts of my usual job description and centralising them to someplace else! I also get paid a decent amount more.

I feel like, this isn't why I moved a thousand miles away from the Atlanta economic crater (ringing as it presently is with the strains of Hey Ya and the cry of LOL @ Seattle). It is, however, the best job I've ever had by every conceivable metric. Best paid, full-time hours after this week (never happened to me before; like everyone else in this country I'm more used to working 50+ hours a week 'part-time'), I am going to get supervisor experience and wrangling-with-IRS-error-codes experience, and my new boss (who seems like a breath of sane and awesome) completely understands what else I want to get out of the next few months; she's two-thirds of a step ahead of me on the certification front so groks what I need to learn in order to pass the EA exam. She also thought I would do really well in this town once I had passed it, which doesn't answer the question of what I do between finishing up this gig in April and whenever I get it sorted. (and what the fuck was I doing last year? idk, ask the XVIII. I wrote a lot (not enough), okay).

Today is a good day. I am going out to see Dessa with C in an hour, I made a delicious garlic/basil/red chillies concoction for lunch, and I am looping three different versions of West End Girls, because.
