Bunraku was a thing of beauty. A true xkcd action movie in which Gackt Beats Up Everyone, Including The Felt. It was indeed a western with no guns, no horses and no fourth wall; one of the themes is pop-up books/origami and the sets and landscapes, which never pretended to be anything other than sets from a western with painted backdrops, were stylised to suit this theme. There were paper trees. There was a whole hell of a lot of sexism but unlike in most films, it didn't interfere with the main plot, but was just background colour put there to remind us that all women are prostitutes and the only purpose of female homosociality is to force other women into prostitution, etc. Also, I have never seen 'weeaboo' used as a villain type before and it is kind of awesome.

I finished a tiny bit of OF the other day, 1k, am at a progressively looser end, should try to stay that way and do real life things, real life things are boring, blah. :(
