a thought I am toying with lately;
Aug. 12th, 2010 08:41 pmInception is the only cyberpunk story I know of that does not involve computing. It gets into a lot of cyberpunk spheres of interest - hacking, virtual realities, 'game mechanic'-type designing, outlaw characters and organised data crime, high capitalism, a little flirtation with East Asia. It's a cyberpunk movie in every damn single way except that there's nothing in it about computing (other than in the abstract sense of exponentially multiplying computational speeds, which, fyi, makes less sense every time I try to conceptualise it).
Uh. I may be writing fic, but not quite. I have about a thousand words down of bastard fusion; no Inception characters in it, but built on an entirely horrible thought that popped up the second time I went to see it; 'If I could do that, I would.' Because it actually kinda makes more sense than canon (not that that would be hard). Oh what the brainbleeding fuck is this. :( I am going to go hide under my bed and pretend I never admitted that I was trying to write it.
