It's been a while since I've felt like saying much, and not because there's nothing to say. Meh.

-this october is insane, and the weather has been all over the place but we're currently having a vicious, three-layers-of-clothing cold snap and I am enjoying myself watching all the Yanks wig out about it and telling them to put some goddamn socks on.

- I read Arkham Asylum: A Serious House On Serious Earth a couple of days ago and it was gloriously unsettling. They took the coin away and gave Harvey a Thoth deck instead, how awesome is that?, and the Thoth's uncanny structure infiltrated a lot of the rest of the design (done by McKean, who also did Sandman) - at least in my mind, which is where it counts. I've never used one and probably Would Not Go There, but even as a visual reference for a superhero comic it's immensely potent.

-Not written much since early this month, because I wrote something awful and then failed at being capable of editing it. I do have something kicking today, but... I am in an unhelpful place, I guess. Morrison said in his notes at the back that he spent a year researching and planning A Serious House On Serious Earth and then wrote the entire script in a month; I'm sat here wishing I could make something a tenth that evocative, and realising that these things need time and space and stimulation. But. I didn't read it alone, if you get my drift, and that helps.

-did I mention quitting the caffeine? The initial withdrawal was wonderfully weird (...yeah, I had a migraine once many years ago and I kinda enjoyed that too) and now it's just a whiny itch in my nerves (wrists especially). I don't know if it makes me less good at assembling words; probably unrelated. Between that and the weather I am getting a bit dehydrated, meh.

-gdi Rori. That is all.

-time is a godtier troll; patience is the art of how to quit bothering to even try to compete with it.

-I have Sims 3 and have played it a bit and damn, it feels hard to get anywhere though it is fun to try. hm.

-we're going to move sometime soon, not sure of the details yet.
